Meet Teneshia
TENESHIA HUDSPETH
Teneshia has been with the County Clerk’s office for more than 16 years and has served under four County Clerks. She began her career as a Mickey Leland Congressional Intern and went on to work in the County Clerk’s Office as the Public Affairs Administrative Assistant and six positions later was elected Harris County Clerk.
Clerk Hudspeth earned her degree in Communications at Texas Southern University. She is also a graduate of the Leadership Houston (Class 34) and the Women’s Campaign School at Yale University. Clerk Hudspeth is currently the 1st Vice President of the Houston Chapter of Women Professionals in Government and Serves as 2nd Vice President for the Executive Board of the International Association of Government Officials; however, these are only a few of the many community organizations she supports. Clerk Hudspeth’s innate desire to serve the community through volunteer work and leadership positions has taught her that service to the community is not a chore but a way of life.
As County Clerk, her primary goal is to provide the public with quality customer service. She is committed to improving government services through new technology to make them readily available and accessible.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

WOMEN PROFESSIONALS IN GOVERNMENT
Teneshia is the newly elected 1st Vice President of the Houston Chapter of Women Professionals in Government and served as Membership Chair 2021 -2022.

HOUSTON BLACK LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE
In December 2012, Teneshia and a group of colleagues founded the Houston Black Leadership Institute (HBLI), a leadership development program for African-American young professionals, focused on succession planning and bridging the gap between past, present, and future leadership in Houston's African-American community. There have been more than 100 + graduates of the HBLI
Program since 2013.

ENSEMBLE THEATRE ACT ONE YOUNG PROFESSIONALS
Teneshia is a Board Member of the Ensemble Theatre Act One Young Professionals.

INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS
She is the newly elected 2nd Vice President for the Executive Board of the International Association of Government Officials and served as Secretary 2021-2022.

DELTA SIGMA THETA SORORITY INC
Teneshia previously served as a Regional & National Award-winning Social Action Chair.

HOUSTON AREA URBAN LEAGUE YOUNG PROFESSIONALS
She is a past executive board member of the Houston Area Urban League Young Professionals.

META2GIRLS PROGRAM
Teneshia served on the leadership team for Meta2girls Program, a non-profit foundation encompassed through Executive Director Mia K. Wright Metamorphosis organization that instills self-esteem, life principles and leadership skills in teen girls ages 12-18 through mentorship and instructional programs.

FOUNTAIN OF PRAISE CHURCH
She is an active member of The Fountain of Praise Church. At the Fountain of Praise, she serves on the Voter’s Empowerment Committee, Care Disciple Ministry that welcomes new members, and the Stewardship Legacy 20/20 Campaign to help continue the building of the Fountain Life Center. They have recognized her with one of the most prestigious servant leader awards, the Stella Trimble Community Award.
